On Nov. 5, 2011 members of The Air National Guard Band of the Northwest, also known as the 560th Air Force Band, performed a musical "Salute to Veterans" honoring military members past and present in anticipation of Veteran's Day at Spokane Falls Community College. The 560th performed alongside choir students from Shadle Park and Rogers High Schools and instrumentalists from Coeur D'Alene High School, Eastern Washington University and 560th alumni.

"We're happy to salute veterans that have served their country so well [and] it is a wonderful opportunity to say 'Thank you' to the surrounding community which we are honored to serve," said Maj. James Philips, the commander of the 560th Band.

The 560th is one of eleven bands in the ANG and serves in multiple capacities, to include, official ceremonies, recruiting events, community outreach and annually in the Spokane Lilac Festival Armed Forces Torchlight Parade. It is one of the largest bands of its kind in the nation.
